Born August 13, 1860 and given the name Phoebe Ann by her mother, it was her sisters that called her Annie.
While her parents began their lives in Pennsylvania, they were living in Darke County, OH when Annie was born.
The fifth of seven children, Annie made her mark on the world with her sharp eyesite and steady hands.
At nine years of age, Annie began to shoot game to help feed her family and by the age of sixteen she had quite the repuation as a sharp shooter.
